Directions to Ravelrig RDA from Edinburgh:
If driving from Edinburgh:
Take the A70, Lanark Road, sign posted for Currie / Balerno.
After seeing the sign for Balerno continue to travel west.
At the set of traffic lights, go straight ahead; sign posted A70 to Carnwath. Do not turn to the left into Balerno Village.
Continue to travel west for about half a mile. You will see a housing development of sand coloured houses on your left-hand side.
Take the next turning on the left into Ravelrig Gait.
Follow the road around until you come to a T-junction.
Turn right at the junction.
Follow the road straight a head and you will see the gates for Ravelrig RDA.
If taking the bus from Edinburgh:
To see the bus companies and times of buses, which service the Balerno area please click on the bus link.
Ask for the Lanark Road End bus stop.
Get off the bus, cross Bridge Road using the pedestrian crossing.
Keep walking straight ahead (westbound) along the Lanark Road, A70.
Continue to travel west for about half a mile. You will see a housing development of sand coloured houses on your left-hand side.
Take the next turning on the left into Ravelrig Gait.
Follow the road around until you come to a T-junction.
Turn right at the junction.
Follow the road straight a head and you will see the gates for Ravelrig RDA.
Directions from the West:
Travel east bound on the A70 (known locally as the Lang Whang) road following the signs for Edinburgh.
You will see the sign for Balerno as you approach the 30mph limit.
There are a series of sharp bends.
After the bends you will hit civilisation. Take the third turning on the right hand side into Ravelrig Gait.
Follow the road around until you come to a T-junction.
Turn right at the junction.
Follow the road straight a head and you will see the gates for Ravelrig RDA.
