EQUIPMENT
A riding hat which meets with the current British approval (PAS 015, (BS)EN1384, ASTM F1163 (Troxel) must be worn at all times. Hats in a variety of sizes are available to use at the stables.
When roads are used to access a bridal path, florescent waistcoats are provided and must be worn by all riders and helpers for road safety reasons.

It is not essential to go out and buy all the latest riding gear, however appropriate clothing must be worn.
Trousers which allow ease of movement (eg. Jogging bottoms).
Shoes or boots with a heel. This is a safety requirement so that the foot does not slip through the stirrup, although all saddles are fitted with safety stirrup irons.
A waterproof jacket is a good idea, as we do not have a covered riding arena.
It is essential to wear gloves in the cold weather. Some riders may prefer to wear gloves all the time as it aids grip.
There is a selection of sweatshirts, jodpurs, boots and jackets available to borrow within the tack room.
Ravelrig group colour is purple. Sweatshirts, t-shirts and rugby shirts are ordered via the committee. The demand dictates how often an order is placed. Please check the clubroom notice board for more information. |
